Got to hill head and was set up by about 10. Wind was pretty strong so put up 9m and took out the sol. had a bit of trouble getting off the beach, wind was dead onshore and there were quite a few dumpy waves, tide was high too. Plus im still terrified of scrating my new board so that doesnt help !!

Managed to get out after about 5 minutes, water was pretty rough but really powered up and once past the shore could shoot upwind fairly easily. Very busy - our club took 21 down half of which went out, which annoyed the locals.

One hairy momment, a guy infront of me stopped dead and put his kite straight above him, i redirected to avoid hitting him, which of course shot me 10 ft in the air. last thing i saw before i was dragged under the water were my lines about to wrap round his ! CRAP ! luckily he managed to crash his kite into the beach and they didnt wrap round ! I think he was pretty peeved, but it was my right of way. Apparantly he is prone to lots of accidents so it didnt come as much of a surprise to the locals !!

Went in for a bit to rest, before i went out again, fewer people out this time which was great. wind had picked up by this point and i was pretty overpowered. Quite fun though, before a gust came through, i was 10ft in the air again and my board had gone !! tried body dragging to it but i wasnt getting any closer to it so i gave in at that point, put the kite down and swam out to get the board. Called it a day at that point !

Pretty good day, though quite eventful. Minibus we hired crashed into the car he was following !! Someone else ripped their kite too so i was quite lucky to get away with just one near miss !!
